Discover Dubai’s beginnings

The Deira Creekside is located next to the section of Dubai Creek that separates Deira and Bur Dubai, two of the city’s oldest neighborhoods. Though it has been the region’s lifeblood and Dubai’s primary route to the outside world for millennia, the creek as we know it today was only built in 1961.

The inlet now symbolizes Dubai’s rich history as a port city. The breathtaking sunsets over the lake, the vibrant crisscross of passing abra and dhow boats, and the bustling of merchants around the Dhow Wharfage will astound you.

Among the many landmarks along the banks of the busy waterway is the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, which features an 18-hole tournament golf course, clubhouses, residential development and the Park Hyatt hotel.

The Spice Souk, Perfume Souk and The Gold Souk are located nearby too, making for fantastic opportunities to explore open market shops while on a stroll through the historic district. The true Dubai shopping experience is preserved here – amid the smaller discoveries and winding passageways of the souks.

The esplanade at the base of the Eiffel Tower is dominated by four massive pillars, which support the entire weight of the 10,100-ton monument. Gustave Eiffel’s engineers Emile Nouguier and Maurice Koechlin worked on mathematical principles to ensure stability.
